What We've Got is a life long love for music with over 30 years of writing, performing and recording experience. Our “Caledonia Station Studio” is situated in a 100+ year old farmhouse in the village of Caledonia, Michigan which is less then 20 miles southeast of downtown Grand Rapids. Many artists enjoy our “at home” ambience and small town hospitality as it makes for a less intimidating recording experience.
Our latest studio is built around Apple computers running Apple’s Logic Studio software. Our signal path employs an Allen & Heath GL2400 24x4 console feeding 12 channels of legendary Apogee A/D-D/A converters, some Really Nice Compressors (not to mention a Really Nice Leveling Amplifier) along with a multitude of multieffects for professional quality recording. At least a dozen mic’s including Blue, Neumann, Octava and Shure adorn our mic locker to faithfully capture the nuances of the richest of tones.
Our studio features heirloom quality instruments including a 1992 PRS Custom 24, a fretless Rickenbacker 4003 bass and a 1994 Gibson SJ-100 acoustic guitar. For amplification we have a Mesa Boogie Lone Star Special and a vintage Fender USA Tweed Blues Junior along with a nice assortment of stomp boxes, pedals and a Line 6 PODxt Live with every expansion pack including the POD Farm Plug-In. For drums there is a 5-piece Tama kit with a double bass pedal, 3 roto-toms and 5 cymbals mic’d up and ready to track. Whether you are looking to record a solo performer or small group we have the experience, place and tools to create quality crafted music. |
